Only 200 miles on it so far, but it’s been good. Only got out once this winter on anything more than 10 miles or so. Wasn’t much for riding with the trails all closed off for the sleds, but at least they had a decent season this year. It’s nice someone got to use the trails and help out keeping the economy going up there.

You guys both got booted from fm too?
I was feeling lonely.
You both summed it up pretty well.April 1, 2009 at 9:25 pm #764850I think there are more than we think that are fed up with everything there.
Sorry to hijack and ruin your thread Chris.
April 1, 2009 at 9:37 pm #764860Dont worry about it. This is way more interesting than his wheeler.
April 2, 2009 at 3:24 am #764982I saw one at the Hitching Post the other day. It is SWEET! Is it a completely new motor? And if you look at that pipe, it seems they are letting it breath a bit, huh?
April 2, 2009 at 12:13 pm #765030It’s supposed to be totally redesigned. From what I’ve heard it is the best of everything. Only thing I’m not a fan of is it’s weight (heavy), and if you get to see the unit with the plastic removed the engine/transmission takes up every square inch of the frame.
April 2, 2009 at 12:45 pm #765046Yep, total redesign…. for the better, IMO. I wasn’t a fan of the Polaris weight either, but 70 HP changes that. It feels just as light as my brute force did.
It will be interesting to see how they do this weekend at mud nationals.
May be going to Gen Andrews on the 18th if anyone is interested. Of course it would depend on the weather and trail conditions (closures).

Ya, got booted for “discussing forum policy” (making fun of the rules in the public forum). I think some of the mods may have had it out for me because I called them “city folk” and “sissy”. Oh well. Everyone is a tough guy behind the keyboard, right………
I said it many times that I liked the people there, just not the dictation on the open forums.
Well, I am a new member here as well (reffered by Roofer). I was also a member over at FM the past few years but also got sick of the forum politics and expressed that so ofcource they hack and edit posts beyond recognition, and also deleted some. This looks to be a little more welcoming.
April 2, 2009 at 2:10 pm #765077looks like some young blood here will surely get this forum rock’n, welcome to all of you.
April 2, 2009 at 2:19 pm #765079The 18th may work! I see you live up that way, how are those trails usually? I know the Nemadji has a lot of peat bogs, mud and cut forest. Kinda the same there?
Yeah, I hear ya on the weight. Jami has the Rincon, and that is something like 100 pounds lighter than mine. I have no issue throwing weight around (As I have a lot of it! ) on the 800. I think the softer rear end settings on my rear shocks really keep it glued to the trail which I like. As you said, the power really helps overcome it.
Anybody else wanna head up that way on Saturday the 18th?
WI trails don’t open until Memorial Day, right?
April 2, 2009 at 2:35 pm #765082Reading the specs on that machine, couldn’t believe it was putting out 70 hp!
Welcome to IDO fellas!
I’ve got nothing going on the 18th..
Jami
April 2, 2009 at 10:34 pm #765226New here too! Also reffered here by Roofer from FM!
The 18th would work for me too as of now!
April 3, 2009 at 12:28 am #765261WHEW!! We got some real ATV nerds here now!! Welcome one and all. Glad to have. Love looking at the tricked out rigs, even though I don’t know what half the stuff is you are talking about.
Please be sure to know when Jami and Tuck start cat fighting you realize they are just a couple [censored] cats who have been declawed.
April 3, 2009 at 2:05 am #765286Kooty, I was hoping they knew each other the way they were talking.
Dozer!! Good to see ya come over and check it out. It looks like the General Andrews is open all year still. A few others said they could probably go also on the 18th. How was the last ride? Meet some new good people?

I was really hoping they knew each other too!
This seems to be more of my kind of site than FM already!
Looks like we might have a decent group on the 18th! We went to Gen Andrews about 3 weeks ago, it was pretty good but was still pretty frozen. Should be alot better by the 18th. Met a couple new people on the ride, both good riders and a good time.
Hopefully they can find something for me to do around here so I dont have to go to SD! Im really hate working on the road, but atleast its work!
BTW: Roofer did you get a new truck? A Dodge of all things?
April 3, 2009 at 3:18 am #765307Jami is my tournament fishing partner. Kooty is the trouble maker that you have to watch out for. If you have sheep, don’t invite him over. Llamas either. He has velcro gloves and knee high rubber boots. If he asks you if you wanna go a round with the champ…just look at him and .
Speaking of South Dakota, Kooty was expelled from there after he turned 18. He returns from time to time under a false name.
April 3, 2009 at 12:27 pm #765356Yes, new truck. I wanted a long box, wanted it before next year, and under $50K. The Dodges were the only ones that had a decent deal. The motor is unbelievable and it was $8K cheaper than a Chevy. The Ford’s just aren’t reliable right now. They are supposed to be getting a new diesel again.
I used to be brand loyal to GM, but now I really don’t care any more. If it’s a Diesel that is decent, I’m happy.

When were they? I really like the newer Dodges by the way, but I’ll never have that kinda $$!
April 7, 2009 at 1:31 pm #766386Got the pipes on yesterday. Man! They bark! Albeit I was in the garage…It sounds like a Harley! I won’t be able to get out and try them out until Friday however. Installation wasn’t too bad once I got rolling. (Thanks Jami for the spring tool!!! )
A little louder than I thought…but they have a deep growl/rumble to them. I will post up some pics later.
April 9, 2009 at 5:38 pm #767124Well I called them and asked about how loud they were…and they said “You have to take it out and beat the &^%$ out of it for a bit!” as that sets the packing in the pipes. He was absolutely correct!
They REALLY sound sweet now!!
April 13, 2009 at 12:32 pm #767930Did you forget about the pictures?
I wonder how the weather is going to turn out for the weekend. I hope it is as nice as it has been lately.

I am still contemplating this weekend….. work or play. If I make the ride it would be nice to ride share to save some cost. I did however take my tracks off on Saturday so I am ready to get out and ride.
April 13, 2009 at 12:58 pm #767934I think bjamms was planning on going.
I’m willing to meet you somewhere also, if it would work out.
My dad was just up near Hinckley this weekend and he said it was drying up nicely. I heard that CC Andrews may have a little snow left in the woods, but I’m sure it will be all gone by this weekend if it’s not gone already.
