Anyone interested in getting together some time and burning some gas some time? I haven’t got together for YEARS to go ride sleds with friends… anyone?

I went today, 70 plus miles. Man what a blast, trails were great. We are thinking about going again next week during the week.
I will shoot a PM at you as it gets closer.Ron
January 6, 2009 at 3:48 am #734482I was hoping you’d be one to throw your hand in the air. The trails along the river rock!
What you doing this weekend… maybe on sunday? We could hit the ice in the AM and see what the sauger think about getting a sore lip and then go burn some gas. That is unless your sled is a hell of a lot faster than mine.

So what’s that, about a 45 minute ride? You get bored easy or what?
Let me know. I picked up two sleds last week. One is a dedicated two-up ice fishing sled. The other one could use some trail miles and I could use a refresher on how to actually ride a sled.
January 6, 2009 at 3:55 am #734486That sounds like a good time. Let me confirm it with momma and get back to you.
And you don’t have to worry about my sled. It is just an old P.O.S. XLT. I mostly use it to get out fishing.
January 6, 2009 at 3:56 am #734490Are there any trails on the WI side of the river that would allow us to meet at everts? Would us MN boys need any trail stickers, etc?
January 6, 2009 at 3:56 am #734491I may be game also. Keep us posted on the details. Sounds like it would be a fun time.

It definitely won’t matter… I haven’t rode hard in 10 years or so. Throw in any kind of slow, gradual turn and 40 MPH seems mighty fast to me right now.

I am sure we could find a trail from Evert’s. I’ll have to check on a sticker. I’ll find out.
January 6, 2009 at 4:01 am #734497Way cool. Let’s plan on Sunday and if we can make it work… that would be great.
I’ve run the trails on the MN side from Lake City south to Wabasha and then east towards Rochester and they’re a hoot. I would assume there’s similar trails on the WI side.
I’m pumped guys. It’s been a long time for me.
January 6, 2009 at 4:03 am #734499You know, I just thought of it, the trail are closed right now in Pierce County. Unless we get some snow before the weekend we cannot ride here. The lake is open though.
January 6, 2009 at 4:04 am #734502looks like a $35 trail pass is required for non-residents. should be able to get them at everts though I think. am going to try and find a trail map for around the resort right now.
January 6, 2009 at 4:05 am #734503$35 will work for me.
Len, the lake goes a LONG – LONG ways! I’m open to anything. A couple hours of bumping around or a full day or tearing it up. It all sounds good to me.
January 6, 2009 at 11:13 am #734543Can anyone join in on this? I’d like to pull the sled down & go for a ride.

Not everyone…can someone tell Dean I can’t work Sunday?
January 6, 2009 at 1:35 pm #734556You’ll have a hard time getting from Everts to the lake with the snow conditions in our area right now…. the snow condition on the lake are pretty marginal right now also….You’ll need to replace the slides on your new sled. I’d head north a little if you want to get some riding in…..Rice lake area just got 12 inches of snow last week….. Whatsa

Anyone can come along… once we know where we’re going that is.
Len, what say you about heading a little north to get on some fresh snow? I see the forecast calls for snow on wednesday but I’m not sure if that’s going to amount to anything… or even hit the Red Wing area.

Thanks for the update.
January 6, 2009 at 4:32 pm #734616Yes,…to get in a decent ride you should go North of a line from Alexandria-Brainerd-Mora-Rice Lake, Wis.
I have an open spot in my trailer leaving Cannon Falls Friday morn and returning Sat evening. Call Dan @ 651-303-7300 if interested.

James, you forgot to mention you aren’t as young as you used to be!!
Plenty of snow up here in Princeton. Unload at the intersection of HWY 169 and Hwy 95. Ride North to Chico’s for lunch.

Where’d you have in mind?
January 7, 2009 at 3:32 am #734737Mr. Hoffies suggestion would work fine for me. And I think DeZurik will be coming with on my #2 sled if we can put something together.
January 7, 2009 at 2:21 pm #734850If anyone can come along I might be interested. Will know for sure when you find out exactly where you guy’s are headed.

Head up to Mille Lacs and ride south or around. Last saturday I left Rochester at 6am to Rush City, riding by 8:30am. Buddy and I put on 140 miles and were back in Rochester by 8pm even with the icy roads. Trails were a little rough, but there was decent snow. Easy parking at the truck stop on the east side of I35 and the trail is right there.
January 8, 2009 at 1:45 am #735101Turns out I cannot make it this weekend. It is my dad’s 65th birthday.
I am free next wekend.January 19, 2009 at 9:55 am #738853I rode alone today and put on about 25 miles around the ham lake, east bethel area just ditch riding. I am game for a ride, shoot me a pm and I will see if I can make it.
