    Hello –

Looking at a used 2008 Polaris Ranger 700 XP with about 1,800 miles. Has anyone owned one of these or know any good/bad things. How many miles can they go without major repairs. Thanks.

I have a 2009 700 sportsman with about half those miles on it which I recon is close enough to offer a free opinion. It’s been pretty bullet proof. The only trouble i’ve had with it has been the battery which i’ve replaced three times. These are not cheap batteries. I have an electric snow plow on it in the winter which seems to be pretty big drain. I’ve bought two different battery tenders and pretty much keep it charged now 24×7.

That’s pretty low miles for an 08. I have an ’11 800 with 3000 miles. No problems. Just oil changes and regular maintenance. Nice machines.

I bought a 06 800 a few months ago with about 1200 miles and 250 hours. The guy was pretty hard on it but it runs strong and good. Last week end it started to creep when put into any gear, so I am taking it to the shop this tomorrow.

I almost forgot I cannot remember reading about anyone having any major problems and a lot of people have 5000-6000 miles on their sportsman. Good luck
