As for riverats questions of ever gotten a ticket, we all did this day, then we all went to court and fought them and won. Some one claimed we were riding wheelies down the county road. Definitely wasn’t us.

My Kawi Brute Force 750’s (3) would do 68-72 pinned down hill but you really had to wind them out. You could hear the valves floating. I quit doing it the last couple years of ownership because I was tired of adjusting valve lash. My Maverick turbo will push past 80 but I’ve only done it a couple times just to see. Its gets over 60 lickity split.

If it’s going down roads more than trails or utility purposes….I’d rather buy a late 90’s Jeep Wrangler for half the price and take the doors and top off, then sit in the cab of a side by side listening to tires hum and the sound of those engines at highway speed. As a previous 93 jeep wrangler owner, I’ll be happy to never own one of them again. I’d go with a samurai or tracker over the jeep any day. I’m also not much for a sxs guy. They are only worthwhile when it’s cold and they have a heated cab.
My 98′ Jeep Wrangler Sahara with the 4.0L, 5 speed, 4 Low with Mickey Thompson Bajas would literally climb a wall. It never saw a speck of salt and I sadly sold it with only 98k miles on it. That thing with the doors off, top off, and some good tunes was the most fun vehicle I’ve ever owned.
I’d take that thing back in a heartbeat over any plastic side by side on the market today.

I would love to be able to go on a 30-40 mile long sxs ride on a nice evening throughout the back roads just for the scenery aspect.
Hopefully, more small towns follow suit very soon. As I get older I am progressing away from snowmobiling somewhat and enjoying the sxs’s year around.isu22andy
Posts: 2141April 23, 2025 at 12:35 pm #2331959We’d ride atvs literally small town to small town as kids as fast as they’d go . 45-50 mph all the time . Hell we had a Honda CB 250 and a three wheeler in the pack as well . Blew the CB 250 up like 10 miles from home once with no cell phones we left him under a shade tree to get help lol .
April 23, 2025 at 1:36 pm #2331973^3 wheelers were the best. They rolled without nearly the damage that old quads would get.
We were drifting an old Arctic Cat 300 in Junior High …and my buddy rolled that thing. You couldn’t tell it from a pile of scrap metal when we tipped it back over. It was like a bomb went off in a parts store. Meanwhile, we literally lost an old Honda 3 wheeler off a bluff road and had to go down the ravine to get it and I think it had a busted brake level was all. I bet that thing tumbled down 60′ and hit a few trees along the way.

Allegedly! LOL I saw 2 school aged boys riding electric bikes yesterday (no idea why they werent in school) doing wheelies for blocks! Saw them again this morning and they were carrying fishing rods and tackle and almost got run over on my way to work by the car in front of me. I dont think either one of them will survive to adulthood.
April 23, 2025 at 1:45 pm #2331976I can tell you my Honda 350x had many spills, one which almost killed me and it looked the same the day I sold as the day I got it. Nothing ever broke.

My 250r was the same. To bad you didn’t still have the 350x. Wildly fun machines.
