I’m looking for a good option for a trailer. Would be hauling plenty of firewood, deer, deer stands, a couple kids… Lots of in the country use. Most trailers seem to be right around 10 cu ft. I’m hoping to find something around 20 or so. What has anyone bought and loved, or definitely stay away from. I’m in Central MN, but not afraid to take a short trip for quality.

    Something similar to pic.

I’ve trashed so many of the “garden trailers” like in your photo. I know they are for looks, but I use the stuff on my farm. Since you put in firewood, I would think you’ll far exceed the weight of those trailers.

My solution has been, #1 – buy a small utility trailer with a real axle and wheels rated for more than your expected use. You’ll save money on the long run. My fgavorite for around the farm has been my 5 x 10. Its easy to pull with the ATV. Plus I can still use it on the road behind my truck. For concerns on size, plenty of 4 x 8’s with good load capacity

#2 – buy a cheap garden trailer and tear it apart. Replace the stamped tin tongue with tube steel. Reinforce all the corners with angle iron. Weld in additional supports with angle iron and paint it.

Single place snowmobile trailers make awesome atv trailers also. Add some sides to them and they are very light, most of them are aluminum

I’ve had a Polar 1500 and it’s been great. Hauled lots of stuff with it. Pulls great, very tough.

You have to overkill the weight rating. I’d only haul half of the rated weight on anything except smooth trails.

Had a 5×8 utility trailer with 2ft sides on it till it rotted away. Worked great around the yard and still able to put wheeler in it and run down the road for hunting or fishing.
