I am heavily into the run-and-gun style of fishing and am looking for some options for quick and easy access to my two or three “go-to” rods. I have an ATV with the Monsterbox mounted on the rear rack. I have one side dedicated to the bucket holder for my propane bottle and the other side is empty. I know I could get the Otter rod box and mount it but I already have the Icefishing Innovations box in the sled, but have to pull everything out just to get to my rods. What have you guys done? Any mounted anything directly to their Monsterbox such as a rod holder? Do they run the risk of getting damaged or lost while bombing across the lake?

I made rod holders out of pvc. I used a small piece knotched out so I can lock my rods in the actual pvc pipe. I run all over lakes including Winnipeg with no issues. I will see if can dig up a picture.

Here’s my setup. I put it on a milk crate so I can swap it back and forth from the ATV and Kayak. Works amazing and everything is locked in place. I also have a similar one that attaches via a couple RAM mounts to the box

If you look closely at the rod holder you can see how the notch narrows at the top. I used a heat gun to soften the plastic then placed a zip tie around the top and tightened it until it was closed enough then let it cool. Took a couple tries but came out perfect. Now I can lock the spinning rods in place for the long bumpy runs. Yet a quick upward motion and the rid will come right out.

The other items I made out of irrigation pipe. Shortvsections can be found at menards near the pvc pipe.

Get the monster rodbox, so nice to have it secured yet super easy to get at it, I used to keep my otter rodbox inside my otter sled, was a pita to get it out all the time. There’s a youtube video showing how you can add a few short bungee cords inside the rodbox to make it only open 1/2 way making it a rodbox/table when opened from the monster box.

You could also install a few rod holders to the outside of your monster box bucket holder, I would just avoid any drilling into the monster box itself, the bucket holder is only $25 to replace if anything were to ever happen to it…
