I was looking at getting one of these for our 2-3 acres of food plot. Anyone use one of these?
Last year I used the Groundhog Max which worked good, but that was only 3/4 of an acre.

Are you planning on selling your groundhog max?

I tried a couple of those before Nitro… They work decent if it has been tilled in the past or following up after a larger ripper or tractor plow.
Didnt really have enough weight to do much to never before tilled ground for me. In general they are pretty light weight.

My father uses a Tarter combo behind his Gator and really likes it. I do know that his tends to collect mud between the middle discs, but I’m sure all are prone to that. A packer isn’t really necessary for food plots, IMO since a lawn roller would work fine, but it is a nice feature.

Do you have a link for this particular implement? It looks like you can add extra mass on the “basket” above the discs. I think it looks pretty sweet for your intended purpose.

Dead vegetation may hang up in it. I bought a double brinly disc used on craigs list. works great for little $$$$$. less hassle in rye that has been glyed. I plot 4 acres.
building a 350# cultipacker was a great move for me.
I also soild test and lime/fertilize to test.
When planting time nears, I try to plany just before a rain.
hope this helps you and the other smaller plot guys who own mostly wooded acreage.
I use a Honda foreman 500 and a wheel horse 857 for soil prep. also made a small boom sprayer.
