    I heard tell that the power plant isn’t running right now. The water temps were right on 33 degrees when I was out on Friday. Has anyone heard if pool 4 froze this weekend?

    One reactor is down. A week ago there was skim ice when it was 14f. I would guess the ice could be an issue today, but I haven’t heard anything.

    I saw Brian posted a picture this morning and it looked open and quiet.

    Nice! I love the “are the ramps open ” posts regardless if they are in jest or not. Kinda like an old friend calling you out of the blue!

    Yeah temps right close to freezing Friday
    Fish were stacked in the sand drifts on the Wisconsin side ~20′ up near dam. If I was fishing eyes…

    Figured the headline would raise an eyebrow or or two. Wasn’t sure whether or not the whole thing was down. Ice fishing gear is for emergencies only at my house.

    Ski is staying one step ahead of the ice…barely. If we can get through the next couple of days we will be in good shape. Could sure use the generator back online up river.

    I would say the Wisconsin Channel ramp is going to be locked up for quite some time. It had a shelf of ice prior to this cold snap.

    Usually as long as a guy can get turned around once, he can break a lot of ice. Pretty sure that is what the keel on the Alaskan is for.

    Only with the ingenuity of Ski.
    The ramps are totally open. Normal winter time precautions should be taken.

    * Wear your PFD.
    * Slow down. It’s only two miles to the dam if that’s the way your heading and the fish will wait for you.
    * Please drain your trailers before pulling out of the river.
    * Best bet is to have a fishing partner.
    * Lacing up your boots makes it hard to kick them off in the water. Boots are people anchors.

    Enjoy the winter bite…and don’t forget to bring along your stick baits and three ways.

    …The Back Channel ramp was iced in before this cold snap. There was 30 to 50 feet of ice before open water. The water between the docks has very little current it freezes out fast. An besides that when they plow the ramp all snow is pushed down to the edge of the water on the ramp. ??? Witch means EVERTS will be the only place with open ramps. Like most years. … rrr
