All the lovers and haters go check out edison motors on YouTube. They have it figured out. They just made their first diesel electric hybrid, works like a locomotive. They are able to use a smaller 9 liter engine to run A generator that charges the battery’s. They get twice the mpg. using A 300hp CAT engine is able to turn the 700 up and 80,000 pound feet of torque e axles. They are also starting to work on a similar conversion for 1 ton trucks. They think the cost of the pickup conversion will be about the half the cost of a new truck. All designed by truck drivers and mechanics who want you to be able to work on your own stuff.
