Another good reason for a trip to Pool 4! You sure can’t find any B-Fish-N stuff up here in the cities. I like that green color.

Wanted to field this one to the IDO gang to help me feel out a possible move. I currently have a mathews DXT, 70lb, 29″ draw. Also have the mathews drop away rest on it, mathews 5 arrow quiver, peep, a 4 pin fiber optic sight (can’t remember the brand) and 9 CX Mathews edition Maxima 350 arrows for it. Considering possibly putting it up for sale after the season, what would/should I expect to sell it as a whole package? I’ve looked around on Ebay a little and talked to a couple people and I’m getting 2 different ‘average’ numbers so I wanted to ask a wider audience.

Bought the bow new in 08, put a lot of shots through it but its been well taken care of and the thing is a tack driver. Really don’t want to sell it but I know a guy with the ZXT who offered to sell it to me, but if the resale of my bow isn’t that great I’d rather just keep it and put the money towards other stuff for the one I have.

    Thanks guys.

It would be easier if you would post a picture so that we can see the sight and condition of everything. A rough estimate of about $600-700 with everything, maybe?

I agree with Protourbaits. We need to see a picture of it. I’m a firm believer that the bow is worth more to you than someone is willing to pay for it. You’re talking 2008 technology and with 2014 just around the corner, the bow is outdated. I’m sure you have a value in mind and bottom dollar to sell it for. IMHO, it would be a tough sell for someone to buy a 6 year old “used” bow in a higher price point.

Typically people that buy used items are looking for deals otherwise they will buy a new item, just a different brand. You, me, and the others on this site understand the costs for accessories and such but it’s used and I wouldn’t expect someone to pay more than 40-50% of new value, especially with 5-6 years of use. Just my 2 cents

I don’t expect to get top dollar for it, I had some guys telling me 300 max with all the accessories and I thought that was low balling it a bit so wanted to see what others thought. I’ll have to remember to take a picture.

If that ZXT didn’t feel so good to shoot I really wouldn’t even consider selling it, I have really enjoyed this bow, it has definitely sold me on Mathews.

Unfortunately, given you have alot into this bow, I would have to second the information that Gobbler gave. I have sold a few of my bows through the years, and watched my brother upgrade almost every year. From what I have found in our area (typically selling local), is if its not 1-2 years old it will be greatly reduced in price. A few weeks ago I sold my last bow, a Bowtech Destroyer 350 in Black Ops. Hunted 2 seasons with it and it sat for a season (now into its second season of no use). $1,050 bow and I struggled to get $500 for it bare bow. Now I sit with a 2 season old Insanity CPXL while there are two new Bowtech models already out; I’ll probably loose big on selling this one as well For what it is worth, my brother has had good luck buying a new model almost every year and spending the year lining up some one to buy it, hasn’t lost much on each bow and ends up with a new model for $100-200 each year. These are bare bows only, we typically carry over our accessories/arrows.

Another piece of information, it’s going to be really tough to sell used arrows. However, a person new to archery might be willing to buy them to save some cash. It might be a little easier too if you have a long draw length, in which someone with a shorter draw length will be able to get the arrows cut down to their size. I know a really good archery site that allows you to sell and buy bows to other members. PM me if you’re interested

I kind of wondered about that, I would be using the same arrow with the new one too, but thought maybe a buyer would like to have arrows that matched (for me at least) to get started and then get something different if they wanted.

Here’s some pictures of it if it helps gauge. You can see the missing paint on the lower cam, that’s pretty much the only ‘damage’ to the bow and its just from 6 season of being pulled up and down to the treestand.

I see the pictures didn’t come out as crisp as they looked when I took them.

scratch that idea altogether, he’s only selling the bare bow and I don’t want a new one bad enough to either spend money on new accessories or to have to strip mine down and re-install.
