Shopping for a sight

    Kinda in the same boat as you John. I like the thought of an adjustable pin. But I hate the idea of having a deer come in quick and having to guess on range. Happened to a buddy of mine on a bear a couple years back and he ended up making a poor shot and didnt recover it. He shoots more than anyone I know and after that he went back to a fixed pin sight. I have been looking at the G5 Optix XR to have the option of 3 fixed pins at close range (typical whitetail distances) and then having a fourth pin that is adjustable for longer elk type shots.

    I know this isn’t a great answer to your question as I personally haven’t shot a single pin sight but do have some negative feedback from someone who’s opinion I trust.
