Well, I’ve decided it’s time for a new bow for 2013. I’m not a speed demon who needs the fastet bow on the market. I’m looking for something that has a 7″ brace height, is light but most importantly quiet.

Anyone shot the 2013 lineups yet? Any bow in particular you like that I should check out?

Right now, I have a very open mind and will be shooting as many brands as I can get my hands on.

    Better shoot a Ross Kooty…I’m a fan.

Of course, Mathews makes a great bow as well.

Kind of attracted to the Elite Hunter in Realtree APS. Purely from an ascetic perspective.

Not too many of the 2013 models have made it into shops yet but you will have a bunch to choose from again this year.

Kooty, I have shot 7″ brace height on pretty much my last 4 bows. This year when my bow went down before I left for my elk hunt and ended up picking up a PSE Dream Season EVO. I was a little concerned about the 6″ brace height but it has been an absolute pleasure to shoot and the shorter brace was not noticable. It is fast, torque free and super quiet. I would not pass it by with out shooting it, you will be suprised how easy it shoots even with the shorter brace height.

Are you right or left handed? Right or left eye dominant? I will be going to check out the new line of mathews in a couple months but one bow that I can’t help but love is the hoyt carbon element. You will know which one is the one when you shoot it. Just keep an open mind and try as many as you can without getting hung up on any specifics.

That’s the kicker Todd. I’m thinking about going south paw. Scared to death of the move, but it is my dominant eye.

    Hey Dennis,

When should a person expect to see 2013 models hitting the archery shops?

    Mathews are out already, John.

My nephew goes to a archery shop in LaCrosse and shot all 3. Likes the Creed best.

I know a lot of people have certain viewpoints on bear, but let me tell you the new motive 6 is an awesome shooting bow. Fast, quite, smooth drawing and little hand shock. We should have them in the shop soon. Also the strothers line up is pretty impressive. There are a lot of good bows out there and i definitely think you should shoot as many as possible. The mathews Creed and Chill are very nice bows, as is the Hoyt Spider Turbo. You should shoot all of them and narrow it down from feel, regardless of name brand.

I am looking too, after the first of the year. Right now I am looking at the PSE Revenge and the Hoyt Charger. I still want to shoot more bows before I decide.
