Newbie question about fletching alignment

    Absolutely, Dean.

Mind you, that was 1.8 on a lake on a reasonably calm day. Troll upstream or upwind and that number starts looking considerably smaller.

Another trick I have used in the past is to drop my bowmount and turn the head perpendicular to the long axis of the boat. The water resistance of the head will knock a few tenths off your speed as well.

So, someone could strap a bow-mount troller on that 1790T, and they’d be ready to vertical jig, pull 3-ways, drag, or pitch for those piggies that live within a few clicks of Everts.

First time poster here on the hunting side…took up bow hunting a few years ago and I’ve been trying to find a good answer to this(maybe dumb) newbie question:
How should the fletching be aligned with the nock? Currently shooting a release, RH bow and drop away rest-if that helps at all. Have at it, thanks!

Some guys that shoot a drop away rest will have their odd color vane facing down. I personally have the odd vane up because it’s less likely that the arrow will catch the rest once released

I haven’t seen anyone yet shoot with the odd fletching down, but my recomendation to you is to shoot it which ever way makes you comfortable. My odd one is on top.

I am opposite of everyone. I’ve shot cock feather out forever. As long as all your arrows are set the same, I don’t think it matters.

…and everything clears your rest as well. Ive only seen that happen once and the guy had installed the rest wrong

I choose to use the same color on all 3 vanes and my odd vane is up. I will rotate any arrow that constantly flies a little different than the rest of my arrows and don’t group the same.
I keep the same orientation, just rotate a different vane up.

Mine was set up the same way by Mouldy’s Archery. In the past, I’ve had it set up as down.

A little late getting back, but I arranged mine all with the odd up…getting good consistency and flight path.
I’d asked because I hadn’t checked the new arrows before shooting and peeled the little arrow keeper in front of my drop away right off the bow in the first 6 shots with it.
All better now, everything seems to clear consistently out of the gate now…thanks everyone!
