Anyone that knows me knows I’m kind of a archery nut! Well today I played around with the new bowtech insanity. I shot two different bows one that maxed at 60lbs, and one at 70lbs set at a 29in draw.

I was very impressed at how smooth these bows draw cycle was for a twin cam bow. The valley is twice that of my Mathews heli-m, and the speed is something else!!!

I shot both bows using a carbon express blue streak arrow with 100 grain field points. This bow tips the scales at 4.3 pounds, 6 in brace hight, 32 in ata, and has a ibo of 355 and 98 ft pounds of kinetic energy.

I have never paid to close attention to the ibo speeds cause they are normally hard to reach. Well I shot the 70lb insanity 6 times with my blue streak 350’s threw the cronograph with a average speed of 320 fps! And the 60lb insanity launched my arrows at a average speed of 295 fps!

I honestly wouldn’t have expected it to be that high shooting threw a whisker biscut. I myself am not a fan of speed bows or a 6in brace hight, but this bow dose not feel like it is a speed bow or has a 6in brace hight. I’m honestly very impressed with its draw cycle, speed and how smooth and dead still it is after the shot!

Anyone that has not shot this bow should give her a try. I think bowtech hit this one out of the park in my honest opinion.

I shot both and will take the Helim any day, msrp of 800$(witcombs is much cheaper than msrp), lighter and smoother. I will give up 20 ft per second to not feel like the bow wants to rip the string from my hand!

I must have a defective helium! Mine has zero valley and more hand shock. And I have been a Mathews fan for a while and honestly think the helium failure from what I think Mathews is capable of.

This is a classic example why it’s important for each of us to shoot as many bows as possible when looking for a new weapon.

In reality, I find it hard to believe the top manufactures are really that different or better than one another. How any one bow performs in my hands, I can see that being very different and subjective.
