I have a Mathews Switchback that i bought used last year, and so far I am very happy with it. I am however hoping to upgrade the sight and rest, just curious as to what are you guys favorites?

What type of terrain do you hunt? Spot and stalk or tree stand mostly? How far is your typical shot?

In my opinion, if you are a tree stand sitter who doesn’t shoot over 30 yards, then go with an HHA single pin type site. If you are spot and stalk, get a fixed pin site with as many pins as appropriate for the shooting distance you are comfortable with. I would go with the smaller diameter pins once you get past 30 yards. Lastly, find a sight that captures light very well. I shoot a Spot Hogg and like it a lot.

    Good luck shopping!

Go to a pro shop and start the looking game……

I shoot a spot hogg 5 pin with a wrap to brighten up the sights and really like it. It has been the best sight for me by far. Very durable so far for me because i tend to be very hard on equipment.

as far as rest goes try them all kirby puckett…..I shoot a qad drop away style and like that.

Limb driver makes a nice one.

    good luck!

For two years now I have went with Tru-Glo micro brite site. Last year I ran a four pin I like them cause I like bright pins and this sight offers wrapped all green pins with I small light. The diameter of the pins gets smaller for longer shots. This year I went with a 3 pin in the sight on my new Heli-m I didn’t really need the 4th one.

For a rest this year I wanted to stay with a drop away but wanted a rest that would keep my arrow in place. The rip cord arrow rest is a great rest and hold your arrow in place but if you draw on a deer and try to let down you will see that the rest no longer stays in the up position so your arrow is free to fall off. For that reason I switched from rip cord to Quality Archery Designs Ultra -Rest HD on my Heli- m for 2012 this rest stays in the up position until the bow is shot, along with some other cool features.

Good luck shopping and let us know what you end up going with.

No brainer on the rest. QAD Ultra rest HD

I have a Rip Cord on my old/back-up bow and my wife has a Wisker Biscuit on her bow. Before the Rip Cord, I had a Quick Tune (which I liked until the drop-a-way rests came out) Otherwise, I completely agree with what John said above.

Can’t go wrong with the QAD
