So I was bow hunting last week and noticed that many of my vanes were starting to detach from my arrow shafts.

I used Flex Fletch FFP 418 vanes and Bohning Instant Gel during assembly. They are Easton Axis shafts – no wrap. I did not use Acetone…does that make a huge difference?

no it does not I use alcohol I would try using a different glue I have talked to guys having the same problem particularity in colder weather with that glue I use Pine Ridge glue I used to use Goat Tuff but when i was managing a small archery shop and was looking for vendors I found out that Pine Ridge sells glue in 50 gallon drums to Goat Tuff and they bottle it and label it that is part of the reason that Goat Tuff is twice as expensive also I have worked at 3 locations in archery and all of them used Pine Ridge to do all of the re fletching for customers

The glue your using is a great glue! I have always had problems when using vanes! I always end up using acetone. I also like to scuff up the part of the vane that seats on the shaft of the arrow!

If your shooting carbon arrow…you don’t use acetone. That is used on aluminum arrows. Denatured alcohol works best on cleaning carbon arrows.I also found that AAE Fastset Gel is one of the best out there for putting on my blazers!

Regular old crazy glue.Get the bottle with the small brush applicator. Makes beautiful fletching with no mess.

I love the Pine Ridge Glue, the only problems I have had is getting my blazers off when refletching and I shoot a helical and an offset.
