Has anyone given it a whirl at all? Or would I be better off just buying new heads.

I buy new heads. I think once a Rage is shot, it’s junk. The main chizel is very soft on them and the blades bend very easily. If they are in decent shape, I keep one in my quiver for coyote/coon/varmint purposes.

My G5 T3’s on the other hand, I change the blades. In my opinion, the core of this broadhead including the chizel point is very durable. I put in the practice blades and shoot them to make sure they fly well though.

Yes E, very easy to do. Why are your blades bad???? Are you hiding something

It is not a special wrench but it is tiny. I brought a broadhead into the hardware and bought the two small Allen wrenches just for the job. Other than that it’s simple. Keep em sharp!

I disagree, may be fairly easy to change, but the replacements don’t slip and move inside the head after replacement like a new one does, so I would buy new heads, which is what I will do after I shoot the 4 i have left, buy something new, like shwackers!

I’ve experienced both good and bad with changing the blades. With some of the earlier heads, it was a bear to change the things, such that the knurled pin didn’t fit well to secure the blades inside the head. I ended up ruining the head to get the pin in. That was probably my fault, as I used the farm-boy method of “if at first you don’t succeed, hit it harder.” The last set I changed went great.

Upon contacting rage with my troubles in replacing the blades, they just had me send in the damaged ones, and they replaced them with brand new ones. Great service!
