With the beautiful weather tonight, I decided to break out the bow and shoot a couple rounds at 40yds. It’d been a few days since my last round of arrows so some practice was needed.

I was only 3 arrows into my session when I turned around to see my Daughter Mattison standing there clutching her bow while looking at me with those “I wanna shoot with you.” eyes. So I decided I could reel in the Block to 15yds.

It didn’t take long and Matti was plugging my Block with her arrows. With the last round just before teeth brushing time we each decided to shoot one arrow. Well…..she got the best of me. I let her shoot first. BIG mistake. She plugged the center of the target, almost perfectly. So now the pressure was on. Well….what can I say…it had to have been the winds. Maybe it was the bug that flew into my ear. I’m almost positive it was the sun shining in my eyes at the very last split second. I was off the mark and Matti was the winner. With a big round of high fives and hugs, it was William’s turn to fling a few arrows.

I didn’t have it in me to challenge him. My oh my was I glad I didn’t! He barely missed the mark with his shot. What a bunch of great shooting by the kids tonight! Makes me incredibly proud to have kids who share a desire for shooting arrows like I do. I can not wait to do that again!!
