I just saw the new Hoyt Carbon Matrix on TV. It really seemed pretty cool and might be the new trend in Archery???? Many of the advantages that we seek in our arrows with Carbon vs. Aluminum also can be thought about our risers.

Weight to Strength, Vibration and Recovery are jsut a few. However it sounded like you can expect to pay almost double just like arrows!

Anyone have a chance to shoot one of these yet? I would really like a chance to shoot one of these!

If it wasn’t for the price I would have bought one they are freakishly light and have good speed. The one I shot was pretty much bare and there was almost no vibration or shock. Like I said if it was a little less money I would have it my maxxis 31 fully set up was less then the carbon matrix riser alone.

    Guilty…

The bow shoots like a dream. Something about the bow, just can’t put words to it. It is super quiet and just plain feels good. No “hand shock”, no vibration, just like every other bow out there. I’ve owned ALOT of bows in my day and the CM is something special. Speed is not a concern to me but kept getting asked how fast it was so I chronoed it. With a 460 gr arrow, it was shooting 270 fps. The only thing wrong with the CM is the price. The carbon riser is not new to the bow market but I think Hoyt has done it right with the Carbon Matrix.

I worked on one last week Rob… Beautiful looking bow…

3.8lbs… IBO speed 318 … 60#@30″ with a 365gr arrow chronoed at 262fps (HHA drop away) a little buzz in the riser on the shot, pretty quiet.

Price… $1699+ tax not in my budget right now…

Dennis, you must be pulling a few pounds…

I am not bashing this bow!! but besides it being all carbon, is there a difference b/w other bows out there? I know there are lighter, faster, and less vibrating bows out there but is the $1600+ worth it

Like anything, they will come down in price. What the market can command, is what they will ask. Look at rifles…a guy can spend $300 or $3000 and get the job done. On a all day hunt, like Elk hunting in the mountains, believe me, the extra money for less weight, is worth every penny after 12 hours…

This one was with a bare string and no stab…the buzz could have been from the sight… You are getting more speed with a heavier arrow and only 9 more lbs.

    Hey Guys,
Yeah I shot the Hoyt Carbon Matrix it’s a sweet bow and
light. The only thing is the price and that I like My Reezen. I also shot the Z7 and Monster 7 and they’re good
    bows too.

What is ironic. Bowhunter TV did a special look at this bow. The segment was sponsored by Mathews.
