Got my new to me Alien X setup for me this weekend. It was shooting well in the shop, but now that I’m home, my arrows are kicking out at impact. The knock/fletching end is left of center.

Which way do I move the rest to get the arrow straight?

i personally “paper tune” my bow before sighting it in. I do it every year and usually doesn’t take very long to accomplish. I always follow the arrow until it starts to go the opposite way then bring it back to center. if you start to follow the arrow and it continues to get worse then go the opposite direction because you’ve gone past center.

Once you have the arrows shooting perfect w/o any side to side kicking out you are ready to adjust the up and down… and shoot w/ confidence.

    Hope this helps

    Kooty,

Have you changed your grip from when you were at the shop to when you got home? You and i have the same bow and the only thing i dislike about it is the grip, its good but not like a Bowtechs I try to keep a 45 degree angle in my grip each time shoot. Ive noticed my arrows are kicking too but they are old and i keep switching draw weight, etc

No doubt, some of the issue is my form. The arrows are getting better as my form improves. However, there is still a slight kick out. I’ll mess with it this week after I get a few more arrows under my belt. No doubt it takes a bit of getting used to the new grip etc… I will say, it’s awfully fast compared to the old bow.

Went back to Average Joe’s last night. Worked with Mark, it appears my form is the issue. Shot the bow through paper and it’s good. Now I’m off to do some shooting outside today.

Kooty you grippin’or grabbing the bow at shot time? When I was shooting compound I was so bad my mentor “Old Indian Will” taped thumbtacks sticking out of the front of my grip…I stopped gripping/torquing the bow pretty quick.

That’s exactly what I was doing. Now I just need to train my muscles to KNOCK IT OFF!!

Telling ya the thumb tacks worked, cured me in about ten minutes; lost alot blood but stopped grabbing the bow.

Of course when I went back to traditional archery it took a long time to get myslef to grip the bow on purpose again.
