No ears

    This deer was shot buy a friend. Look at ears. They are more than half gone. It is wild, not pen raised. Any idea why the ears are gone?

    Ive seen bucks ears all tore up from fighting

    But never almost gone

    strange….im w/ gut on this one, fighting is the first thing that comes to mind. But you would think that IF it is due to fighting, there would be more evidence such as broken tines.

    The taxid. I took him to said in his 30+ yrs of doing mounts, he has never seen this before. We both figure when he was a young lad he must have been laying in a field and a mower when over the top of him. When the noise got loud he perked his ears up. Both cuts are the same and clean cuts. I have seen ears split from fighting and frozen ears, these are both too clean of cuts. Either way its gonna look great on the wall, 13pt non-typ dressed 200lbs on the scale at Cabin Fever.
