Well, after shooting a few bows, I definitely have a front contender. However, after standing in the accessory isles, I’ve got no clue what I’m gonna want for a sight, rest and release.

My coworker says Spot Hogg for a site. Looks like really nice stuff, but not sure I can get that in the budget this year. Was hoping to stay in $350 price range for all my needs. Assume fully outfitted. Peep, handle sling, silencers etc… Arrows not included in above.

Looking at the Rip Cord drop away rest. Haven’t spent any time on releases, peeps, silencers etc…

Looking for names/models of stuff you guys like so I can check out.

    Thanks!!

Check out the whole line of Schaffer Accessories.

    http://www.schafferarchery.com/pro-shop.html

Schaffer’s fall away is very comparable to others drop aways on the market for price, but IMO they are the best on the market. Both the Mrs. and I have one on our bows. They are custom fitted for each brand of bow.

Schaffer’s Opposition sight is a little more spendy, but very durable and has considerably tightened my long range groups and improved my target acquisition with their opposing pins.

Besides the Schaffer products, I love the Trophy Ridge products. Their Vertical in line Sights are great Kooty. It really opens up your field of view and in low light conditions really allows more light in the picture which is critical IMO. They have sights that range from $50 to $120. Give me a shout I might have a used one for ya by seasons end. Shooting out West I would definitely get at least a 4 pin sight with a newer bow. I shoot a 5 pin but only use the 5th pin for target practice. Maybe it is time to introduce “bow time” in those garage logic nights.

To me quivers are not a big concern as I always take my quiver off to shoot, but if you plan on doing a lot of spot and stalk out west, a better quiver or altenrate plan (hip quiver/pack quiver) must be thought of.

Just some more to think about!

Yes, a hip quiver is the only thing for me anymore. I’ve always taken them off anyway when I get into the stand.

I’ll make a run down to Burnsville in the next couple weekends to check out all their stuff….

I have the Rip Cord on my bow and love it. My whole family and all my buddies have it also. There are a lot of similiar ones out there though.

    Spot Hogg with wrap

    Schaffer drop away

I’ve been using a scott release, thinking of trying a t handle. Never used one or know of anyone that uses one, but like how they stay attached to the string all the time.

Quiver… I have a matthews that is permanently attached to the bow, sometimes i wish i could take it off, but i’ve never forgotten in at the truck…. For what i paid for it, its staying on.

Kooty, if you watch for deals, take advantage of coupons/adds or work your salesman ship magic you should be able to come close.

Or get the most important expensive pieces first, then piece meal the rest and upgrade later. I had an old cheap sight on, upgraded this year, and wonder why it took me so long….

I’ve been looking at sights for awhile now and like the spot hoggs but they cost some coin. I did like the CopperJohn Tourney Master 5 pin. It’s all tool-less micro adjust. If you don’t need lots of pins the Apex Bone Collector Sights are nice being they have .19 pins or the first two pins and .10 for the bottom two. For a moveable sight they HHA RetroStat is verry bright. But I don’t like to goof arounbd trying to set a yardage tape.

As for a rest if you’re just hunting with it theSchaffer rest is nice. I shoot 3-D and league also, and love the easy of the Vapor Trail Limb Driver. They also make a capture rest for it too that works great.
