Years ago most folks didn’t have much for a selection but now days with technology and the increase demand for something new and better , the average hunter no matter what type of game he is chasing has a large supply of top notch arrow choices to choose from

I have always pulled 60 to 68 lbs on my bow and thru the years have shot arrows weighing anyware from 380 grains to 480 grains.

Right now my favorite setup – I’m shooting a Mathews Reezen with the Gold Tip Pro-22s set up with 125 grain G5 Montecs . I was going to use the Gold Tip Pro Hunter series arrow but the Reezen setup at my draw length and poundage prefers a stiffer arrow thus I went with the 300 spine Pro 22s

What do you folks like and why?

I’m shooting Gold Tip Pro Hunters 5575. My current hunting arrows are the permanent wrapped arrows they make with 4″ VMAX Vanes. But I am building the 5575’s in camo with a white wrap and VMAX Vanes. I have had great luck with the Gold Tips and couldn’t be happier.

When I got my bow I got 18 Nuggent Gold Tips in 5575. They are pretty heavy and a cheaper arrow. It is full wrapped but they shoot pretty good. My new set are Gold Tip Pro’s in 5575. Fly great and wrok great for 3-D and hunting.

I have been shooting carbon express maximas. they are on the more expesive side but i think they shoot extremly well. thats with a 3 blade rage on the end of it and pulling 70 pounds. but thats what has been working for me.

I shoot Beman Realtree MFX’s 400’s. They are 9.6 gpi. Next year, i think i might try something new…i used to shoot Beman ICS 400 which are 8.6 gpi. To me, penetration is most important than speed. With the ICS’s, i get 10 fps faster.

I liked the Beman’s too. The only other reason I went with the gold tip was that I shoot leauge and 3-d with them and they pulls out of the foam easier.

I must be cheap but I shoot Easton 2315’s, I had about 15 of them left when I purchased my bow last year and decided to keep using them. I’m trying the rage 2 blade this year so we’ll see how it goes. It looks like I’ll be switching to carbon when I need more arrows since I don’t even see the Al’s anymore.

I went kinda cheap this year and just bought the six pack of the Cabelas carbon hunter arrows only 29.99 per six. And to tell you the truth i cant tell a difference between my $60 per six goldtips.

It’s good to see a variety of setups here, sometimes you can see trends and other times it just gives folks some ides as to what setups are starting to popular and effective as far as results. I myself have thru the years shot Easton ACCs, Easton Super Slims, Carbon Tech Cheetahs, Carbon Express Aramids , and lately Gold Tips arrows – Pro-Hunters & Pro 22s. That seems like a lot of arrows but that was the transition thru a lot of years & years of archery.

What’s better? As I said before we are all very lucky to have such a great selection of arrows to pick from, and for myself I am very happy with the arrows from Gold Tip right now, that I depend on for competition or that buck of a lifetime.

Great info being put together here folks keep it coming!

I made the switch a few years ago form Carbon Express Terminator 4560 Selects to Carbon Express Maxima Hunters 250’s and tightened my groups down range up even more.

However, I really liked my Terminator Selects and the price was much better @ $64.00 I made the switch to gain some speed and shoot better groups, and it did both.

The 7595 Pro Hunters series max out at a 340 spine I needed something just a bit stiffer with bow, poundage, arrow lenght, and the 125 grain broadheads I am using. The Pro 22 series are a 300 spine arrow being a little stiffer in which I prefer.

340 grain easton epics with 85 grain heads. this year i switched from 100gr heads to the 85’s and added about 5-7 yards to my range. it’s a light setup but i think i gained some fps with the change also.

Camo FMJ 340 shafts with grim reaper razorcuts I shoot these because of shooting the Mathews Monster with all the speed that this bow produces I like the idea of shooting the heavy arrow like the FMJ 340. even thou my arrow is almost 500 grains Iam still shooting at 303 FPS. I was shooting the Carbon Express Maxima Hunter 350 and when I was shooting them off of my Monster it was shooting at 353 FPS. I just like the extra KE’s from a heavy arrow..

    Hey Guys,
Over the years I’ve shot alot of differant arrows. Beman,Carbon Express, Easton, Gold Tip. I think all of
todays arrows are good and it all comes down to personal
preferance. This year with getting a REEZEN I decided to try Easton Axis-n-fused carbon and so far I’m very happy with them.
