i dont know if you have tryed shooting the rage broad heads but i tell you what they leave a whole in a deer like you shot it with a shotgun. its a massive hole.i have shot two large does with them now and both have only gone at tops 35 yard. no tracking needed. so if you have not tryed the rage broad heads i would give them a shot.

I use the 2 blade rage heads. A most unbelievable mechanical head. Your right> leaves a heck-ava hole.

Same here, I’m on my second year with them but haven’t got to try them. I have seen 3 deer shot with the 2 blade Rage’s and I’ve been impressed!

I shot the 3 Blades last year and was not very impressed. I had an issue with the blades opening up prior to impact and I was getting very poor penetration.

I’m now back to shooting G5’s and I couldn’t be more happier.

Don’t get me wrong though, I know alot of guys that shoot the Rage’s that absolutely love them. For me it’s a confidence thing, and I had to shoot with what I know will work for me. That’s why the G5 gets the nod. Just my 02.

Yep I have been shooting Rages for 3-4 years with 7 deer harvested with a Rage 3 Blade and 6 complete arrow pass throughs @ 62 lbs. I have yet seen a deer go past 60 yards and leaving a blood trail Ray Charles can follow.

My wife just shot her first doe with a 40KE Rage 2 blade with 1.5″ cutting diameter and had copmplete broad head pass through at only 48 lbs. That doe only made it about 75 yards and we had blood at the site of the shot with again impressive blood trail.

Justin, it sounds like perhaps the O-Ring needed to be replaced on your Rage 3 Blade, but I’m glad you found something that you are comfortable with.

As you said Confidence is key and I have never had more confidence, since I switched to the Rage.

I shoot the 3-blades as well and I’m happy with the results (4 deer, 1 turkey). However, when it comes to deciding which broadhead a hunter should shoot, it is a personal decision and one must factor in which broadhead is best for YOUR bow. Broadheads react differently depending on the bow/arrow/distance/wind etc.. so I refrain from saying that one broadhead is better than another.

I switched to the 3 blade rage last year and shot a doe, what a difference from the muzzy’s I used before, deer went 20 yards, no tracking and I didn’t have any issues with the mechanical part.
    I would recommend the rage

I agree whole heartedly> I’m set at about 300ips @ 60#’s ~ but I’ve heard that when you start to get up in the 315+ range, they can open before impact> I have no proof of that. But I’m very comfortable and confident in how they work for me with my current set up. My shots on deer have passed through and lots of blood….ya, I think ‘Stevie Wonder’ could follow that trail as well

I do need some more rubber bands for my unused Rage 2 blades from last year as the old ones decayed and are unusable. Do they sell those at Gander/Cabelas/Scheels, or anyone know where I can get some?

Only shot one deer with the Rage, but left a huge hole and a massive blood trail.

    Thanks!

Whitts, when you buy a pack of Rages they give you like 3-6 extra O -Rings, but I have also seen you can buy them seperate!
