So what is everyones plans for opener?

Mine are pretty simple. Have a pattern on a few does so thinking some practice and meat in the morning sounds good follwed by an afternoon sitting in my buck stand. Have a few bucks using this particular trail with my eyes set on a particular one that I have been hunting for two years now. The old buck is probbaly 5 1/2 years old maybe older. When I found him in 07 I was guessing 3 1/2 – 4 1/2.

Lets hope these patterns hold for another two weeks. Please!

Also hoping for a north or north/east wind. If I don’t have it my plans will have to change.

Stab a doe opener morning, and a 3.5 or older buck in the following 2 weeks and be back on the water chasing birds or eyes

Thought I’d sit in the stand and see if I can get a head start on some sausage mak’in!

They’re changing from that tawny tan to gray. Never saw the fawns with her the last few days.

Opening weekend for me is about meeting up with good friends in Adams County WI. The hunting area is approached by canoes so the deer feeding on the main land have no idea we arrived early before light, great way to keep from bumping deer on the way to the stands.
Catching up with friends, great food and time in the woods has always made the opener special. A couple deer being paddled back in canoes is always a bonus

Good luck and throw them big arse darts straight Archers

Heading over to Buffalo County Fri night. We are in the process of building a cabin over there on a buddy’s farm so we have a lot of work to do.

Plan on hunting morning and evenings looking for a shooter. Found a big rub about a week ago (10 inch hard maple ripped to shreds) that has me a little excited. I set a camera up in the area hoping to find out which buck is making that type of sign.

It will also be great to see all the boys again and we will celebrate the opening of WI bow season. Making friends and building more memories along the way.

If I was going to pull the trigger on a buck opening weekend, it would have to be an absolute monster. Even then, I would still not know what to do with all of my extra time.
