Those shows would be great fun. The issue is getting sponsors to pay for that type of show. With each show costing well into 5 figures… we’d need to pass around a pretty big hat.

With almost everyone using at least one of the sponsors equipment you work it in how the every day angler uses it and so could the viewer.

Hey, you don’t have to convince me. I like the idea. I think an annual show covering one of our GTG’s would be great. I’ll run it up the flag pole.

I’d be willing to donate for this show.

I have a New Ultimate Lodge we could use, and could donate some kids.

I was thinking the same thing. One of the ARM get togethers might make a real cool show if getting permission to film the kids isn’t a big hassle.

What do most of you guys set your pins at? I’ve heard that most guys don’t set a 10 yard pin because the difference between a 10 and 20 yard pin is so small. Do most of you have 20, 30, 40?

    Thanks

Yep with todays bows shooting at breathe taking speeds. I wouldn’t be surprised if guys even start out @ 25 or 30 yards now. I have a Mathew Legacy that has a IBO speed of around 308 fps and I have my 5 pins set for 20-30-40-50 &60.

I’m shooting a switchback xt and I hunt around 64 lbs. It seems between 10 and 20 yards I do have just a touch of drop.

I hear ya. In real world hunting for me that touch of a drop is nothing and having one pin is less things for me to screw up on during that moment of truth. I remember a buck I harvested in ND. The year I switched and went with my first pin @ 20 yards. Once he made it within 23 yards I knew he was mine and had nothing else to worry about as Auto-Pilot kicked in full force and I was just so focused on my spot as I put my top pin on him, stopped him and watched him drop within 10 yards of where I drilled him. Not having to think is he 21 yards, 18 yards, 15yards or 12, can make a big difference.

Also on your bow, shooting from about 0-7 yards, the arrow is actually rising and peaks @ the 7-8 yard mark. Remember your rest is a few good inches below your sight pin, thus taking a little while (7-8 yards) to come up and meet it. I’m about 3/4 inch high at 10 and dead on @ 20 yards with my set up.

Same here. Start at 20 and go to 60 – mainly for 3D shooting though. I’ve never had to shoot at a deer over 26 yards out in 31 years of hunting. Most are at 12-22 yards.

My sights are set the same way too out to fifty yard.
