    Outdraft,

The reason why i said that is because the hunting video production industry doesn’t show the bad shots, lost deer, and especially equipment failure! If you have noticed, you don’t see things like this in their videos because obviously it would hurt the business of their sponsors. But for you and me, these problems are prevalent, just look at the reviews on Cabelas and any other major retailer on how they work/fail. Im not bashing the head ive seen great results and poor results. Just not for me but try them out yourself

I always say – the best broadhead is the one that gives you the greatest confidence in placing a killing shot from YOUR bow.

Protour you have WAY better eyes then I do, to be able to see that arrow not coming out the opposite side in normal motion.

I will be the first to tell you the Rages are very capable of failing. However, with that said I think a good majority of those failures could have been avoided if the Hunters were a little more aware of things. One, I never reuse a broad head or arrow. I used to, not worth it IMO. Secondly, the Rage is a mechanical head and I check that head every single time I get in the tree and or nock an arrow. I will bet you a good number of the failures where the blades prematurely opened, those heads were not checked before shooting. Is it the broad heads fault or the Hunter????? IMO that is the Hunters fault, not the equipment.

It is? The Rage 3 blade has killed 9 deer out of 10 I have shot at with them. The one that is still living was a poor shot placement (my fault) and no fault of the broad head. Never once have I had a premature blade open or one not open at all. Since I made the switch I have seen better penetration and blood trails that Stevie Wonder could follow. The other things I have noticed with the 3 Blade Rage is; increased effective range, tighter broad head groups, less drift when shooting in the wind, and most of all I have increased confidence at the moment of truth. Those are the reasons I made the to switch and shoot them as my every day broad head.

Yet, like I told Drelan earlier, I would only shoot what I have confidence in and told him the same. For me that is the Rage 3 blade. If you ask me to shoot a Rage two blade and I would tell you no. Why? Because I have no confidence in them. Are they bad?? I don’t know, never shot ’em.

    Lip,

I agree about checking the heads when getting into the stand, i do it too with my bow and arrows. I did not make myself clear about the heads. I LIKE the 3 blade and DISLIKE the 2 blade. Ive heard great things about the 3 blade but a mixed bag of the 2 blade

You are 100% correct you definately need to pay closer attention with them as i’ve noticed a blade out and it will affect the arrow flight, i always check them, and will replace the o ring which seems to help
