Better Tip: When shooting broad heads, never aim at the same point. I use different spots on the target when shooting BH’s.

Once your bow is sighted, tight groups come from consistency. Shoot the same everytime. Have a routine and follow it. Heres mine… at full draw, I use the same anchor point (tip of my nose touching the string), this will be different for most everybody, then I take a breath, exhale, relax, aim and squeeze….. this will give me tight groups, which should grow confidence. Remember in the tree, you need/get a 1 shot group I rarely shoot for groups now. I shoot 6 arrows at 6 different spots on my target. One in each circle and the last one at the “B” in the title in the bottom left corner… The Block Too many knocks get ruined shooting groups… Also, have a loose grip and try to grip the same everytime. Have fun with it !!! Remember the best vitals are at least a 4″ area… if your in there, your in the boiler

Big G hit it on the head. Consistency.

The other thing you might want to check is make sure your bow is properly tuned. Maybe take it into a archery shop like Schaffers or another one close to you and have them shoot your bow through paper to make sure things are set up properly and it is shooting straight.

If your bow is not properly set up even the best archers struggle with tight groups.

Stance, anchor point, grip, and squeezing the trigger are the most important pieces to being a great archer The number one thing that most people do is punch the trigger. You can adjust your trigger to make it less sensitive. You have to train yourself to squeeze the trigger and avoid rushing the shot. Another thing you should try if you haven’t already is shoot with a more open grip. This puts less torque on the bow once the shot is released. Try holding the bow so that the grip is in line with the webbing of your thumb

maximas here! chris you may want to trade your peep in for an anchor sight. it eliminates the peep and forces you to shoot the same everytime. (anchor point, grip etc)

i still love peeps. i have a good sized one that i have never had trouble with.

i would never shoot a rifle without a back sight, and i would never shoot a bow with out a peep

I felt the same way until I tried an anchor site by archery innovations. I no longer use a peep sight.

I’ve been looking at trying the anchor site. One of the best shooters in our archery club is shooting one and averages a 299.

I like my Gold Tips they have treated me well and I like the fact that I can add a little weight to the front of the arrow without having to change the broadhead, this makes another easy step in fine tuning a perfect setup without messing with the arrow much.

Arrows used are the Gold Tip
    Pro-Hunters 7595
    Pro22s
    Triple Xs

I also use a Specialty Archery – Hooded Peep, this enables me to use a smaller diameter size hole for 3D and such and then I take the center out and just use the hooded housing for hunting.

Switched from GTs to Victory V-3s…love em! Very inexpensive way to eliminate the peep…use a kisser button for less than a buck!
