Lip, your mom sent me this picture of you. Is this why you only pull back 62 lbs?

I shot bow weights as heavy as 85# for years…but the technology of today is so much more efficient. I shot 67# before I tore my rotator last year. My new bow is driving 370gr arrows @ 227fps at only 50#! I see my self being able to shoot 60# by bear season and don’t see any reason to shoot more weight.
Shoot a comfortable weight and shoot more accurately!

    OMG more therapy..

I’m shooting @ 60# and this old man is ready to go down a few. I think the bows minimum is 55. I’m thinking 58 so I don’t have to say 55

I shoot 65#. 70# max. Question. Doesn’t a bow perform its best when set at its maximum? I thought that is what I was always told. Not that it is that big of a deal, but if you are shooting 10# under your maximum would it be in your best interest to go the next step down in a bow, get a 60# bow and max it out?

I agree with you. ive got my set at 62 with a max of 70. I’ll probably crank mine up to 66-67 for next year.
i’ve heard that if you can pull it back comfortably sitting on the ground with your legs crossed, than it’s the right weight.

I just wouldn’t buy a bow that is top of the line, spending $600-1000 and than shoot it drawing almost 10# under its max. You can’t reap the benefits of that bow without being close to its max. Its all for not.
