The kids are the future and anyone helping the kids get into fishing should get a pat on the back…whether it’s one kid or a whole clinic!

I came across this. I normally hunt with my brother during turkey season. It really helps to have some one else in the blind when turkey hunting. If they are on the move one guy can range find them while the other is at draw.

I was wondering if anyone has ever used one of these http://www.deadonrangefinder.com/

I would really like a range finder that would attach to my bow and have a display reading on a little screen above the sight. But I am afraid that no one makes those. Or at least I can’t find one.

What do you do when your in the blind alone?

I find that when a turkey is out at 30 plus yards you have to be right on because your target isn’t much bigger than a softball that you have to hit. I use the range finder to ensure that my arrow is a kill rather than a wound. If you know the range the rest is up to you.

Interesting, if I understand it right the only down side I can see is that not all deer/elk/moose are the same from top of back to belly. You take a mature buck and put it against a 1.5 year old doe there body mass and distance from top to bottom very greatly, thus not getting an accurate reading????

    Am I understanding this correctly???

From my understanding you only shoot mature giants! So you probably wouldn’t have a problem with that! LOL I just kid’n

It is a good point yeah there would be a lot of issues with this like what if you could pick out its belly through the brush. There is just a million of problem I could see.

I was hoping some one has a better idea than just a hand held range finder. Something that could attach to the bow and be ready when you are.

I am really just looking for something to hunt turkeys. They are much smaller targets.

I love whacking does. I come unglued when a mature does steps out and I have the green light to shoot a doe.

I battled through the same issues last year on a spot and stalk whitetail hunt with my bow. I could have whacked a doe at closer range but I had to grab my range finder that I had ready and with minimal movement, but by the time I ranged her and started to draw. she moved again and this time she settled down at 52 yards and I got a shot off, but she was about half the distance the first time. If I had something like this it would have made it a lot easier.

Well that is bow hunting for ya. If it was easy it would be no fun.
