If a hunter (me included) would put the amount of energy and time into studying and practicing the correct shot placement, it wouldn’t matter what broadhead they used. IMO, I think we give broadheads too much credit and too much blame.

I agree somewhat with that statement, but I definitely noticed a huge difference in blood trail length after switching to the grim reapers. Didnt have a deer go more than 40 yards.

But shot placement is definitely most important!!!

I love my spitfires, but find myself hunting out of ground blinds more. I’m might look at a fixed blade so I can take full advantage of the blind and be able to hunt with the windows closed. I quess I have awhile before the season to figure that out.

I have used Muzzy 100 three blades every since day one. I can honestly say that I take two or three deer a year and in fifteen years I have never lost a deer. I think placement is great, but also the ability to track deer.

I know a guy that used to hunt on my land. He would lose at least two deer every year, and he was a great shot. But he would not even try to find them if they ran out of sight. Its safe to say that he no longer is alowed near me.

As long as you are shooting an over the top expandable you are able to shoot through the mesh/screen of a blind. Broad heads like the Snypers, Rage, and Tekans you can’t because they are rear deploying heads. Ive used the Sidewinders and Miniblasters from Rocket to shoot at turkeys through the heads and they don’t open up and still fly true. Just to be safe, i always double band the blades so they won’t open up once they hit the screen
