We can’t teach archery in PE anymore
Apparently some people are afraid of giving students a weapon

When I had archery in HS (yrs ago). The Air traffic control center for the nine state area was behind the targets. There was a few arrows stuck in the power poles above the targets

My son is in 6th grade and they are doing an archery unit in PE right now. He has his own bow (just a started) and he has a few classmates that are already bow hunting. I’m glad the archery unit has not gone away completely

We have all the equipment to teach archery but it is just to big of liability for our school. I have thought about starting an after school club and there is a range about 3 blocks from school…. something to think about I guess.
