no they don’t after today-and apparently neither do four stroke augers..
I did put a couple of nice dents in that shiny new truck with my foot. Haha, I showed it…probably won’t be able to walk for a week..December 5, 2007 at 3:33 pm #630140momma always said…and thats all I have to say about that…
flower YOU BLUE!!!!December 5, 2007 at 3:36 pm #630141this is how it went down…
went into the shop, had to plow snow for the railroad lots, pulled auger out of truck, to take it inside to stay warm, set it down outside the big door, un-locked the little door- hopped into the plow truck, started it up, hit the button for the garage door opener, and backed out and you guessed it, crack, crunk, crush….ever see what a composite auger does when a 1 ton dually diesel ford runs over it? I would have just broken the auger shaft, had it not been a dually. MY heart sunk… I am so furious right now. Said [censored] the plowing, the railroad can deal with 1″ of snow for one day. Went to the office, checked the insurance policy, even if it is covered, it is a $500 deductible, so not worth turning it in. That is the second time I have pulled an idiot. I did the same thing earlier this year with one of my legend croix’s and a calais dc reel. Yep ran over that one too, and I vowed to never do that again.December 5, 2007 at 7:24 pm #630195I did something similar with the snow blower, on a much cheaper scale Sunday. Threw open the garage door, started the blower and out the door I went. I didn’t realize my weed sprayer was sitting in the auger. It’s now spread through-out the the neighbors yard. I’m hoping the mower will pick up the plastic come spring.
December 5, 2007 at 7:42 pm #630201My wife tryed something like this also. She is one special gal. She jumped out of the car with it still in gear and set it into the back wall of the garage. Car went threw the shelves and pushed the back wall out about a foot. The amazing part of this was it ended up being my fault as she was in a hurry to get my kids somewhere. Just like when she left the car in gear and sent Jonathan heading off down the street in the car alone. He was 3 at the time.
I better go. This could get really long.
December 11, 2007 at 5:55 am #632028So I have redeemed myself….Went into scheels this evening, looking for a deal on the strike-lite- they usually give me some type of discount there. I got my first strike-lite for around 3 bills.
Anyways, I start talking with one of the fishing shop managers there, turns out he is moving south to follow a woman…
He is liquidating his bountiful ice fishing gear, lets just say I got some sweet stuff for dirt cheap. And yep you guessed it, his strike lite!!!
It is a “first generation” strike lite, just like mine was, until it cracked into a million pieces. Further more, I picked up the same problem with his, as I had with mine…leaks oil…go figure, so I will still be carrying four bottles of auger oil in my bag, unless I make it to SM sometime soon. But hey I won’t complain for $200- I am up and running again with a new set of blades!!!!!!! If I wasn’t such a dumbass, I would have two strike-lites for the retail price of one.I just about went and bought a jiffy for a really good price…Kidding BK-

September 11, 2008 at 4:42 pm #196728What sights are you guys using and what are your pins sighted in @?????
I’m using the Trophy Ridge Matrix 5 pin with .19 pins. I’m actually only using 4 pins and have them sighted in @ 20,30,40 & 50 right now. The 50 pin is mainly for practice and my longest shot that I would probably take if ALL conditions are right is 40-42 yards.
What about you guys?
danno34Posts: 170September 11, 2008 at 4:55 pm #37876Rip, I use a Copper John Hunter pins at 20-60. To be honest 60 should only be used by Daniel Boone
September 11, 2008 at 5:33 pm #37883I’ve got some fiber-optic sights that came over on the Mayflower . I keep telling myself that I will buy some new ones. But, I never think of it until I feel it is too late to get enough practice in. Maybe next year.
September 11, 2008 at 6:13 pm #37887Im shooting the Flashpoint by Black Gold. 4 pin, 20-50. Micro pins

September 11, 2008 at 8:30 pm #37908Same Here Black Gold Flashpoint…Removed the 5th pin and have pins at 20,30,40,50.
This is the first year ive sighted in a 50yd pin and although its going to be tempting, I couldn’t get myself to use it out in the field..
hdmeyerPosts: 79September 11, 2008 at 9:50 pm #37923Stacie, has the Trophy Ridge Matrix 3 pin with .19 pins. She is set up for 15, 25 & the 35 yardis almost dialed in.

Good Luck Zimmy!
September 11, 2008 at 10:07 pm #37929Cobra w/TruGlow. 20-60. Had the 60 dialed in for Elk hunting a few years back..Haven’t taken it off and haven’t practiced at that length either! I’m sure i could still drop a set in a coffee can from that distance if I had to.

Oh…. I’ve been here everyday this summer, Rob!
Just patiently waiting for my favorite time of the year! I’m heading out Sunday morning to try my luck.Good luck to you too, Rob!
September 12, 2008 at 2:40 am #37950Like Rob and Stacie, I also have the Trophy Ridge Matrix with 3 Steeltech Pins (.19) sighted in at 20,30, and 40 yards. I also added the Indiglo light which helps me in poor light conditions. I really like the verticle inline pin technology on these Trophy Ridge Sights!
September 12, 2008 at 1:54 pm #37967Oh yeah I forgot Brad, We have the indigo light also. However in ND, battery operated things are not allowed, so The Trophy Ridge Sights accept glow sticks to give you a little extra glo at those last or first few moments.
The vertical in line pins are sweet and really clear up your sight picture and in low light conditions I find this EXTREMELY valuable.
September 15, 2008 at 2:16 am #38111HHA Optimizer Light Elite. I used to shoot a cobra three pin, and after using this HHA sight, i will never use anything else again.
