My 13 year old daughter wants to get into archery 
The problem is, she is right handed, but left eye dominate.
Now I know that can be overcome, but her problem is compounded, because she has a caterac (yea i spelled that wrong too 
) in her right eye from birth.
Anyhoo, what should I do, teach her to shoot left handed, or stuggle thru the vision problems?
i had a buddy that used to be right handed. But about 10 years ago he was in a fourwheel accident and the handle tour his right eye almost completely out 
He can no longer see out of that eye and he trained himself to become a lefty in both shotgun, rifle, and archery 
I would suggest that she practice shooting left handed because obviously its the only eye that works
You can overcome eye dominance with practice.
I shoot bow right handed but shotgun left handed.
I also shoot both with both eyes open. It took a little practice being able to shoot bow with both eyes open but now it is second nature.
I would have shot bow left handed but it just didn’t feel “right” when I held a bow.

Totally agree, especially since she is just learning how to shoot. It is way easier to make the switch or learn now and as her muscles are not trained and will adapt easier. With her Left Eye being a Dominant and her Heatlh issues with her right eye. She should shoot left IMO, it is a lot easier to hit something you can see.
I am left eye dominate. My dad noticed when I was pretty young seen me lean over the rifle to use my left eye. I just did it naturally. Ever since then I have been a shootin lefty.
I am right handed But it feels more natural for me to shoot left.
I can shoot right but it doesn’t feel alright. Now that I am a bit older I don’t even think about it. My brain just clicks with what I am sopposed to do when shooting But if you ask me to write a paper with my left hand forget it. I only have the feel for shooting.
Get her shooting lefty!
They only down side of being left is the options you could be looking for a gun and they just don’t have it in stock not that they don’t make it. It is just harder to find.
I got my son a RED RYDER for christmas last year. I let him shoulder it on both sides. He said it felt more comfortable on the left side. Same with his bow. He is just like me I guess. Right handed left eyed.
He shot the bullseye out of his target a cuople of weeks ago at Cub Scout camp. Sure made me proud 
She seems to think left handed would be ok, so that is the route we are going to try. The shop is out of lefties, so just have to wait a couple more days.

I right left handed, shoot right handed and can throw a football with either hand. I do all my shooting with both eyes open , and my suggestion would be to teach her to shoot lefty. It will take some time but I think it is easier than re-training an eye. Also I wonder if re-training an eye might cause some problems , it seems like a lot of straining .
IMO eye’s are more important to shooting than arms. More than likely she will end up having better vision in her left eye than her right due to the cataract. As a kid my dad taught me to shoot right handed because I was right handed. I shot right hunted my entire childhood but had a hard time focusing on the sights and target so I was a poor shot. As I grew up I realized that I was left eye dominant and also has better vision in my left eye. I swithced to shooting left handed as a young adult. I’m amazed at how much better I can see the sights and target now. I’m a better shot now, but still not great. But that has nothing to do with my vision… 
We decided to go lefthanded, just ordered an ’09 Diamond Razor Edge package for her. Can’t wait to get her started.
