Who’s going out for the opener tomorrow in MN or WI? Looks like the weather is going to cooperate in the morning at least. I can’t wait to get the season started chased

If you’re in the Brainerd area keep an eye out for lucky.
I guess he’s had that arrow in his head for a couple years now

First time in about 10 years that I’ll be at home. Parenting really changes a guy…Kinda sad since my stand is 1/2 mile from my house…

Is your stand on Celts parking lot?

I’m leaving soon to check a couple cameras and then pull a stand. I will definitely be in the stand in the morning to start my first week of vacation this fall. Let the season begin!

Well I pulled one card on the way to my stand. I climbed up, and just as I stepped onto the stand this little button buck popped out at 20 yards! Hopefully that’s a sign of what’s to come this coming week!

I’m not the best hunter but I might be the luckiest…

No more than got into stand. I look up the draw and that big boy was eating acorns. It 4pm. I grunt at him he heads my way but won’t completely commit. He angles up the hill and jumps fence now on property I can hunt. I shoot at him at 54 yards as he about to go up into cornfield.. as lick would have it I was rushing the shot nervous he is getting away and hit branches. He runs up into cornfield and gone.. completely missed him. Sitting in my tree now mad. Depressed kicking myself in the but.. I debated on getting down but decide to stay. It’s like 4:15 now.. about 10 mins go by I look up the draw and a small buck cuts down out of corn heads right to the acorn tree the big one was under.. 3 more nice bucks follow him down followed by the buck I just missed ten minutes ago. I grab my grunted grunt once. The small buck looks down hill towards me. I grunt one more time and here he comes. All five bucks walk single file line to my tree. The big boy coming in last. The rest is history..

That’s an awesome story, congrats! What part of the state were you hunting?
