I’m thinking about adding this to my new 150 Merc 4-stroke when the new boat arrives. If anyone has it please comment. I’m curious how accurate the fuel usage readout is. I didn’t order the smartcraft option and understand this doesn’t give you everything it would but looks good for the price.
I installed it mid-season last year.
I was impressed how accurate the fuel usage was for me (2 tanks total).
It was less than a half gallon off for me.
My gas gauge was way off, so it really helps.
It also is nice to have the water temp readout and
rpm to watch.
I have it installed on my phone
but I always use my tablet for a bigger screen to view.
It does take a while to load and then get it connected to the motor.
I found I can only have it connected one Bluetooth device at a time.
Fuel usage is a calculation in the PCM. It’s based off fuel injector pulse width so it should be VERY accurate. Eyekatcher is correct about it only being able to connect to one device at a time. In general all the important data you would want to know, and then some, will be present. It will be as accurate as any other Smartcraft gauge(same data).
Bump to the top… Any other reviews of this product? Want to pull the trigger and install it but wanted to see more reviews. Don’t trust gauges. Not real worried about remaining gas but other information would be real useful.
