Anyone use a ring fry?

Just tested a few trailers for a jig that just came in the mail, I drop it down and me and the neon-tetras check out the action. Tried a curly grub, twin tail, GY straight stick, and a ring fry worm. According to me and the neons it was the ring fry, that thing jiggles nicely when it hits bottom and wags like a dog on the lift-drop. RF was kind of a thing there for a while, anyone still use it?
    Thanks

If this is the lake fork ring fry you are talking about, I use to fish a ton of them. Both the full size and the Smaller one. As a matter of fact for many years this was my #1 go to bait choice. Probably the best dock skipping bait there is. The weight and profile make it possible to easily skip that thing way back in under docks that a lot of other baits will not get to. I would often skip it under a Big pontoon and have it come out on the other side. They are great in the spring when fished weightless, The work great rigged on a Jigworm setup, I use the smaller ones wacky rigged on a dripshot, they are great whem fished on a texas rig, I habe used them for flipping into heavy cover. Just so many different ways to fish them. The only problem I have with Lake fork Ring frys in finding them at a local store and the $. I use to have to always order them online. Since I don’t dock fish as much as I once did I don’t use them near as much as I did at one point in time.

Fleet Farm still carries ring fries. I have some neon ones that I use occasionally for pike fishing. The slow drop and waggle pisses em off pretty good.

I use Strike Kings version the Supa Fry from time to time. Actually works pretty good for a neko worm. It’s a different shape than your typical worms and creatures and they seem to do well on heavily pressured water.

Capra’s in Blaine always has Lake Fork ring fry’s. Yes they have been a staple bait for years!

I have not used as a trailer, but was my weightless either texas or wacky rig worm before the Senko came out. I still have some ring worms, the baits I mean, and still occasionally use. Good baits. If it works for you, use it. I still throw an original 5 or 6 inch Gene Larew Salt Craw, heck these baits are 30 years in my possession and they still catch fish. Fun to see all the old neon glitter colors we used back then. That neon blue glitter with chartreus or orange claws were my favorites for flipping. Salt Craw used to be my flipping bait go to.

Love Capras, they carry stuff that nobody else does, great selection of cranks.
