Well I am, what the heck else is going on? Last time I did best with my ice fishing rig! Wind has bothered me more than the cold, have you noticed? Calm all week like right now, weekend comes and ‘the gales of November come stealin” Least the lake I am going to has a good launch and they leave the dock out. If you do go bring sand, salt, kitty litter, let your trailer drip out at the launch so you don’t make a skating rink for the next guy. Can get into good bites and mark good spots too-no skiiers, skeeters, knats or sunburn. If you tell yourself that right now is winter winter feels loooong-hey its still fall!

My youngest and I did real good last Sunday. Might go check out the landing tomorrow since I got all our deer put up.

Was out a week ago and struck out. Lake I was one was a dead sea. Not sure if it was in turnover or what, but did not mark a fish. Are you guys finding them over basins or structure related?

I was actually working the edge of the basin and it was loaded.

Wind at one lake had to be over 15 mph forcing me to use the highest trolling motor setting to get anywhere into the wind. That afternoon I switched to another smaller lake that had high hills on both sides with wind 9 mph and allowing the anchor to hold. Caught only a dozen in three hours, but hey, better than zero. Water temperature was around 50.

Fish were located in the northern in-flow end in water 3-5′; 4 – 11″ crappie and a few 10″ y.perch. Sunfish and bass on the small side but all fish hit hard even a few on float & grub:

weather looks better next week, might take a pass tomorrow-bring the cold I don’t like wind and wet.

That said I usually do not make a plan on a weather report, I’ll get up early, look at it and probably go. In the summer I’ll drive out in a thunderstorm, get there everything is fine-or sit in my car for a bit (nice to have satalitte radio!) Anyway only rarely do I think that I should have stayed home, usually I think I’m glad I did not talk myself out of going.

I wish, put the boat away a week and a half ago. Might go to a small lake for a little shore fishing in hopes to find some shallow stragglers.

Not nearly as much wind today-of course it’s Monday!Did not go yesterday, kinda regretted my decision no Vikes either, would have been fun to watch the Pack play a tough team-oh well, I’ll stop complaining now, great weather for my minnows in the garage. Maybe I’ll go 2x Thanksgiving weekend.

No…but had a great couple of hours catching perch from the bank of the Wisconsin last week. 2 ft of water in a small current seam, couldn’t keep them off of me. Felt like a kid with a cane pole for awhile. grin

I might get the boat out Thursday. Hopefully the wind stays down.

Fished on Thursday on a Madison area lake and caught 11 crappies, 4 perch, and 1 northern. The crappies were all over 12 inches and the perch about 10 inches Put the boat away the same day and had abut 8 inches of snow Friday night and Saturday. Took a pic of 2 of the bigger crappies.

Well you can beat 13, but 13 is darn good.
