Planning on giving it a shot on Tuesday for some bass and probably pesky pike. My buddy was on Leech today. Temp was 43. Any of you guys been out lately? This might be just a cold boat ride, but what the hell. Thanks

Was out in the snow on Sunday-beautiful, caught a 15” crappie, was sure it was a bass or pike. saw turkeys and pelicans in the snow. Dress warm, have fun,
No: Jet skiis, waterskiis, skeeters, tubers, knats, sunburn, slimey water, other fishermen crowding in. Did see some duck hunters but that was ok.October 15, 2018 at 8:39 pm #1803960Yeah I’m still going. Haven’t been able to lock down a consistent pattern though. I think the super fast drop in temps have them scattered around at different depths. Been finding them all over but can only get one at each spot it seems. I’ll be out again Wednesday morning.
If all else fails, I drive around trying to find schools of crappie on the graph to drop something down to.

October 16, 2018 at 9:41 pm #1804229Made it out today in the 40 degree temps and 25mph NW winds. Pretty slow for an hour or so then picked up a few at the end. Tx rigged chigger craws worked the best. They were deeper than last week. Resorted to jogging for walleyes. Got a couple dinks, but bass fishing more interesting and keeps you warmer.
BrianFPosts: 765October 16, 2018 at 11:54 pm #1804245Was also out the last couple days in Northern MN. Water temp had fallen to 38 by the time we left. All our fish were caught casting artificials. Aggressive presentations were still working, but boat control was virtually impossible. Left a day early.
October 17, 2018 at 8:44 am #1804294I last went on Oct 8. The water temps were 54 degrees. Warm enough for a bass still. I may go one more time but I fear that its dropped below 50 now, and once it drops below that, bass fishing becomes virtually impossible.
October 17, 2018 at 4:30 pm #1804409I went out on White Bear today. It’s my home lake and for the first time in a long time of fishing it, I got skunked. Water temps were 45-48. I can usually still pick up a fish or two on a deep crank, jig, or dropshot, but today nothing. I think the fast drop in temps has the fish really scattered. I didn’t see one group of fish on the graph today. I think I’ll be crappie fishing next time out….

tim hurleyPosts: 5831October 28, 2018 at 10:28 am #1806235Caught a few yesterday-found green cabbage with a crank then dead sticked with plastics-plastics caught all the fish.
October 28, 2018 at 10:47 am #1806239Been night fishing lately, lighted Bobber’s, and casting , mixed bag ,it hoot watching the Bobber’s.

They weren’t aggressive but they wanted the chatterbait. Nothing big but the best day I’ve had in a couple weeks going for bass.

November 6, 2018 at 8:39 am #1807992I went out for Largies one last time Friday. Caught 4 for about 4 hours of fishing. All on Squarebills. Tried some slower stuff, but nothing on that. Missed something big of course too. Definitely been a slower fall, but it was nice to get out one last time and hook a few.
Put the boat away Saturday and I think I made the right decision with this weather and forecast coming up. Bring on the ice now!
November 6, 2018 at 4:07 pm #1808134Decided my boat will be headed up to storage on the 18th and the only trips I am planning on doing are scouting for ice season. Had some really good days and some really bad days this year. I suppose that’s how it goes.
tim hurleyPosts: 5831November 6, 2018 at 7:30 pm #1808169Gonna do a scout trip this weekend-gonna be chilly-skipped last weekend could not do wind, rain and 35 degrees-lots of great football last weekend, Rams/saints, Vikes, Packers/Patriots. Gophers even looked good, On paper! This weekend no Vikes, I don’t hunt and at least it won’t be raining, can cover lots of water in a boat (compared to drilling holes)
