I’m with you Lake Angler. Bought a used Ice Castle last week. Kids and I made a camping excursion in the driveway the other night. Love being able to set everything the way I want it. Can’t wait to get it on the lake hopefully in December. St. Paul Ice Show less than 5 months away!

We haven’t got as much oppressive heat this year as years past, so no, not yet. And my boat has only seen water three times this year… frown

Until the boat is winterized and put into hibernation, I have no obsessive thoughts yet. I do still have some nice dreams about it though…

Honestly I always am. I do really enjoy summer fishing for bass and musky but there is somethings mystical about staring at marks on my flasher and trying to make them eat!

Nope, thinking about my trip to Nipigon this week, then fall fishing after all the terrorists leave, grouse and deer hunting. Then ice fishing….its coming but I don’t need it yet….but its never too early to start planning

Every year when I get back from my Canada trip (late June this year), I’m ready for fall because the local fishing picks back up then and its closer to ice. Already have this coming winter’s ice trip planned (Rainy Lake)

The only ice fishing I like doing is fishing the ice out of the bottom of my empty cocktail.

I haven’t finished celebrating the ice’s disappearance early last winter yet. My idea of ice fishing is reading about some sap in the far reaches of upper Canada sitting on ice on a lake. Around here though an inch of shale for three or four days is a good plenty of ice for a winter.

I think 20 responses in less than a day lets you know that you are not alone. Im always thinking about ice fishing. Its my favorite outdoor activity. I agree this summer hasn’t been too sweltering but I still struggle with the heat. Bring on the cool weather. Ill be happy to get at some ducks and fall fishing for walleye though before the ice hits
