Seems like everyone was on the river and/or on shore this weekend. I fished a lake with what I thought had good #s of pannies and we got zilch-Mr. Pike was even a no show. Great to be out though, was beautiful.Any reports?

Spent a few hours getting my butt kicked on South Center in Lindstrom. Found fish very deep and didn’t fish them, was with a CPR only buddy and didn’t want to kill anything. No shallow fish, no mid-basin fish to be found. When the drizzle/rain started it was time to find a cheeseburger. Water temp was 43

I didn’t get out but FWIW, water temp on a West Metro lake was 46 on Saturday.

Outdoor program on the radio last evening guy was on tonka out of North arm running around looking for some warm water and found lots of lil pannies. Nothing big. Said his first spot he went to was still solid ice!

Fished sunday morning on a small city lake and found a bunch of sunfish, crappies and bass in 7 feet of water. Fished the corner that the wind was blowing into. One of only two boats on the lake which was awesome as most summer weekends I can’t even get my boat on the lake due to limited spots.

I saw pics of good crappies coming off of Minnetonka last Sat.

Would it be considered cheating if I’m fishing in CA? I’ve been fishing all year with mixed success. Trout are biting well trolling with downriggers on spinners behind bright colored dodgers.

There was a great bite on Tonka about a week & 1/2 ago. The crappies were shallow & some nice ones too up to 12″. I’m guessing it was that first hot bite that happens for a few days as soon as the ice goes out. Most people seem to miss out on this action thinking it’s too early. The fish have now moved out of these shallow spots for me. I fished with a boat & from shore.

I was on Green Bay and found a very tough bite. Just a little too early for a steady bite. I broke skim ice on Sunday morning going across the lake.
