Considering James said last week that they were heading to the Rainy, where the Forks just broke, releasing a ton of debris into the river, killing visibility and most of the bite, according to the majority of reports. I’m looking forward to watching the guys figure it out. Of course, I’m heading up there myself on Monday, so it’ll be helpful for that, too!
We fished the Rainy on Monday. The river was a mess so we headed to the lake. Found about 10-12 inches of visibility, 38 degree temps, and got off to a decent start with five fish in the boat in the first couple hours. Around noon water temps dropped 2-3 degrees and we lost half of our visibility in a few minutes. Not sure what happened but our bite was DONE.
With the Forks pumping mud we split for cleaner waters.
