Hello everyone! I’m headed up to Big Winnie this Thursday, just wondering if anyone has fished it recently. It’s been a couple years since I’ve been there. I’m thinking of starting pulling spinners on spots like Rock Fence, Center Bar and Bena bar. Anyone have any input on that idea?? Thanks in advance!

We were on Winnie last Wed-Fri June 19-June 21.
Wed was very calm…smooth as glass and sunny and we found fish from 15′-25′ on Center Bar and Zoomer’s Bar.
The wind picked up big time on Thurs and Friday and we found fish a lot shallower on windblown areas like Raven’s Point and Mallard Point. Best depth was 6′-12′.
We had equal success with leeches and fatheads.
Most of the fish we caught were in the 19″-23″ slot with a few eaters and a couple of overs. Most came on leadheads with a couple in shallower areas on shad raps.
Morning bite was better than evenings.
    Good luck!

Got back from Big Winnie on Sunday. Ended up getting a few fish on Bena Bar and the old river channel off Tamarack point. But most all of our fish came off of Horseshoe bar. My boat caught close to 60 walleyes from 19-22.75. Only caught 4 fish under the slot and zero overs. Had a great time!!! Pretty tough to get fish to eat but I can’t complain about catching 20” plus walleyes all day. Rigging leeches was by far was the best technique. Seemed like they wanted a long snell. 8ft. Bright colored hooks on the snells seemed to help.

All the humps on the north side are holding fish right now. Just drive around until you graph fish or fish a hump for a few minutes and move on if you don’t get bit. Fishing is good right now but you gotta move.
