Anybody own a Hisun?

In the next year (maybe two) I plan on getting middle of the road 2 seat UTV and I’m wondering if Hisun is worth looking at or should I stick to the usual names? I would mostly use it for grouse hunting and just general trail riding, I don’t expect to use it in the winter or for anything too heavy duty.

Hisun is a Chinese ATV, UTV and motorcycle manufacturer that has been in business since 1988. Final assembly of its ATVs and UTVs for the North American market takes place in Dallas, Texas. 2020.

Why buy Chinese when american will do? How hard is it getting service or parts?

Not trying to argue as I don’t have a dog in this fight but, which atv manufacturers are American?

Don’t know, that’s why I’m asking if anybody has experience with them.

    Polaris is the most.

Thanks, I was under the assumption that Polaris had moved to Mexico but I see they are still manufacturing here in MN also.

I would call a few local service centers and see what they say about getting a Hisun repaired.

The Rumble House in Centerville and Super X Power in Milaca are the only two MN dealers. I would be storing it near Ely and was thinking it wouldn’t really matter where in between Minneapolis and Ely I need to drop it off if I have to transport it anyways. Maybe that’s not true though and Super X is a little out of the way. Do people normally bring them to dealers or are there independent shops you’d recommend I check? I don’t know anything about ATVs, just starting to decide what I should go check out.

There are independent repair shops around. I don’t own atv’s so I’m not familiar with any specifically. I just looked on yellow pages.com and found a half dozen places in the Cambridge/ North branch/ St Francis area. The independent places will give you the best idea I think. Most dealers specialize in their brand and may not have as broad of knowledge compared to someone who sees all kinds of different brands.

I believe the new Tracker brand ATV’s are 100% US made, putting them ahead of Polaris in terms of how much of the product is made in USA. They’re made by Textron, the same company that bought Arctic Cat and also owns a VERY large number of Aerospace manufacturing tiers.

I would be careful. Before purchasing, I know the lower prices are tempting, I would make sure parts are avaliable and there are service centers near you. Prior advise about calling repair shops is a great idea. I personally would stick to one of the more popular, long lasting Manufacturers.

I’m not interested in finding out how they are myself lol If nobody has one with good feedback I won’t even go look at them.

I never heard of those. Anybody have one yet? The only dealers are the boat centers it looks like.

Co worker has a 2012 700 that’s worked OK but had plenty of problems and is currently out of commission (he’s loosing coolant).

I believe that all these machines have issues if you use them enough, even a friends Honda Pioneer 1000 just had to go in because of trans issues. Buy something that parts are readily available for and if you’re not up to wrenching, a dealer close by.

I have no personal experience w/ the brand.

It also depends on how much you’re going to use the machine and what for. 60% of the time mine is a gun wrack at sporting clay tournaments (low speed, LOTS of stop/starts)- the other 40% of the time we’ll trail ride.

PS – I’ve had Rangers that have worked well overall, but I’ve put a wrench to both I’ve owned.

    Pete
