Anybody out today pre-fishing for the P2 tourney?

I thought I noticed a lot of fishing rigs out today on P2. The 494 landing was about as packed as I have ever seen it. The Tuna boats were also out in full force. The cold weather will see them disappear soon.

I was out a few hours in the afternoon to check a few things out. Managed to find some fish but nothing that will win the tournament; probably will take a ~24″ avg to win it. I can’t share too many secrets but I did catch some real nice Saugers up to 21″ smile

The water level looks like typical low Fall levels too. Anybody else do any pre-fishing this weekend?

I was out. After today I’m thinking it’s not worth doing the tournament. I didn’t have any ideas of winning the thing, but I can’t catch a thing down there lately. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong, but I haven’t had a decent day out there since early June when the water was still up a bit.

Was out on Saturday. Got skunked during the day. Been a long time since Ive taken a beating like that on pool 2. Slow bite or not someone has to win the contest next weekend. Not sure what is going on with the bite. Last year at this time the bite was fantastic

This week’s weather is coming down with most nights in the low 40’s. Hopefully spark it off for you guys!

It has been tough for me as well. One here, one there, a lot nothing everywhere. It seems like after those heavier rains that we has last week or so, things really changed around for the worse at least for me….I did notice that the water vis took a dive with only about 10″ of visibility or less. I was hoping that cooler temps and no precip would have made it better changing the bite around…but nope, still tough for me..

I keep hearing of poor vis down there, in anoka its close to 5-6′! Does it really come down to barge traffic?

Seems like it could be a craps shoot for winning at this point. Anyone’s game, might come down to luck. Judging by KWP pic, it was mighty close to sundown, and you guys won’t have that luxury. Could be won or loss in the first hour.

I was out Saturday morning from 7 until 1:30. The bite was pretty tough. The average size was about 22″, but I wouldn’t have filled out the scorecard. I caught fish on 4 different presentations: plastics, cranks, blades, and crawlers. I also caught a couple of really nice channel cats. Those dang cats always get me really excited until about 30 seconds into the fight, and I realize there is no way that it is a walleye.

The cool down that they are predicting this week is awesome. This will be the third year in a row that the weather will have cooled drastically the week before the tourney, and it has always helped the bite. I actually think that things are shaping up nicely.

It’s the Minnesota. Above the confluence the Mississippi looks fine.
