A good tip is if you’re fishing with a friend to have one bigger bait and one smaller bait. Or if you’re allowed two lines do the same. The bigger bait calls them in and if they don’t feel like eating it they eat the smaller one that they can’t see from that far away.

We fish Brook Trout shallow here in Maine. The shallower the better. Were get them anywhere from 1ft to 7 or 8ft. Our Brown Trout are a little harder to target, and can be caught any where from 1ft to 80ft of water. Rainbows seem to like a little deeper water. Our lake trout range anywhere from 30-100+ft of water. People get them shallow fishing for brook trout all the time.
