any tips and tricks for catching northern pike through the ice

    Everything I have learned from all of you guys is really starting to ay off iam really getting the hang of fishing with tip ups I put 30 northern pike on the ice yesterday on the 20th thank you all

    Nice! Now you gotta figure out how to get them Y bones out and you will have a fish as good tasting as any out there.

    How far off the bottom do you guys set your tip ups for pike? I usually do 2-4 feet off the bottom but wondering if that’s not high enough. Going to try mille lacs this weekend for some pike on tip ups.

    Another fun way to do it is hand fishing them, I use my tip up, and drop down a daredevil bare and rip it. This draws them in, then slow it down in their face while watching and they bite. Note this is in clear to clearish water and at most 20 ft.
