Wow this weather is slow but one local lake is really honeycombing underneath fast. I heard some lakes near Fairmont are open. Guessing up north will be a while. Have been out on the Horseshoe chain but can’t quite get to where I want to. How’s the conditions in your area?

    God I cannot wait,

Going to get boat rig in the next weeks, then head south or west to find open water.

I really want another chance to ice fish this weekend in NW sconny but I have no idea if I can. Missed the last two weekends because of weather. My late ice season has been stolen from me this year! jester

The smaller lakes have open water along the shoreline by me. All of the ponds and overflow drainage areas are ice free. I’m gonna say that within 2 weeks some metro lakes will be ice free.

There’s a foot or more of good ice in the Brainerd area. It’s going to be awhile unless it really warms up. I’m guessing the end of April. Unless we get a lot of rain.

They’re doing a daily update for Lake Minnetonka on Kare 11 and it went from 22 inches last week to 18 today, and started to honeycomb from the bottom.

If it’s honeycombing then it’s the best panfishing you will see all year
