Kicking around the idea of getting a new machine with EFI and stumbled upon a left over Kingquad for a good price. Anybody have any experience with them?

Posts: 422December 20, 2019 at 8:38 am #1899501I have had them since 05 when the first 700 came out. I now own a 2014 750 with Power steering. Excellent quads with no breakdowns. A couple batteries in the 05 after 9-10 years of abuse, and an occasional CV boot tore from running over trees in the woods. The only other ATV I would purchase other than Suzuki is a Yamaha grizzly. Both tried and true.
December 20, 2019 at 8:47 am #1899502I’ve got a 2013 500 AXi camo with the power steering, no complaints so far. Its used pretty much just for trail riding. Have only had to replace a battery to date. Solid machine for me.
December 20, 2019 at 10:29 am #1899532I own a 2005, 5 other guys in the elk hunting group own kings or other Suzuki, They wrote the book on quads, Honda would be a great choice also.

Those are the only 2 brands I’ll even look at when it’s time to replace my machine.

December 20, 2019 at 11:28 am #1899557Bought a 2017 750 with power steering in the Spring of ’18 as a leftover from a dealership in the north metro. Brand new machine straight out of the box. Have put almost 2K miles on it since the last 18 mos. Only a CV boot due to an rogue tree branch and the oil changes have caused the machine to be down for a brief time. I run it all year round and beat the he!! out of it. It’s never let me down. I like the single big bore cylinder. Guy told me, “Suzuki does nothing great, but it does everything well.” Love it.
December 20, 2019 at 1:09 pm #1899583Well headed to pick one up today. Leftover 2019 KQ 500. Price seemed too good to say no to.
December 20, 2019 at 8:18 pm #1899652I only rode it for a minute but so far I love it. A lot nicer than my carburated Arctic Kitty.

Posts: 5December 29, 2019 at 10:28 am #1901398I picked up a ’19 KQ 750. First thing I would recommend is upgrading the tires. The stock tires are cheap 2-ply. Had the same tires on a ’02 Suzuki Vinson and punctured one in bean stubble as soon as I got it home. Replaced the stock tires with a set of Kenda Bear Claws on the Vinson and my KQ I put Sedona Rip Saws on.
Finding the Rip Saws aren’t a great snow tire. But I’ll use them until I can replace with maybe the AMS Swamp Fox or Maxxis Bighorns. Both of these tires have performed well in snow.

Good sale going on right now for anyone that’s in the market for a reliable wheeler.
December 29, 2019 at 12:52 pm #1901434Definitely a improvement from an Arctic cat. Enjoy!
If your Arctic cat was older then 08 the majority of it was a Suzuki.

It’s an 08. Biggest issues were carb related that just pushed me over the edge and the front diff blew up once and seems like it’s on its way out again.

Posts: 422January 9, 2020 at 6:34 pm #1904901I’ve always had good luck starting my 750 in the cold. I also installed a backup recoil on my 2014 for the just in emergency need as after 2009 they quit the recoil on them. So far haven’t had to use the recoil, but I have started it with the recoil just to do it.
