Looking to maybe start dabbling in buying stocks. What’s the least expensive company to use to do that? I’ve heard Robin Hood might be good?

I put some money in an account for trading. It sat there for 6 months, I couldn’t pull the trigger on anything. I realized I was good at bending nails but no idea on “playing” the market.
I figured putting the money back in savings making .000000000001 in interest was much safer. rotflol

Do you currently have a retirement account with anyone? I’ve got IRAs with vanguard and current 401k with Fidelity. Both offer free stock and etf trades. I personally like to have my money in as few places as possible just to make keeping track of it easy. I’ve been using my vanguard account for my non retirement stock/etf purchases and it’s worked well….

Maybe give Robinhood a try for a while to get used to watching the market and investing on small stocks. Reading on companies/stocks you are interested and filtering through all the bs out there is key. Then as mentioned above once you get a feel for things you can use Fidelity or the like if you choose as well. Good luck. If you want to give Robinhood a try pm me your email address and I’ll send you an invite. We will both get a free stock when u sign up.

I made a little money buying airline stock a week ago and then selling this week when the stimulous package buoyed the market. Watching to see if the stock goes back down. btw. I made airline reseravtions for our annual cabo fishing trip in January. Airfares dropped from $926 to $495. We picked the 3rd and 4th seats,…rest of plane empty. Scary. Certainly hope things are ok by then. We’ll all go crazy if not.

I think all the big name brokers offer free online trades now. I have Schwab & Fidelity and they both do. Back a few weeks ago when the market was really going berserk the Robinhood site crashed a few times and people were stuck not being able to get in and out of trades. The stock message board site I watch was filled with extremely irate Robinhood users.

That was a bit of an inconvenience but I didn’t need to be dumping at that time anyway. In the end that forced me have a cooler head.

It was the day traders that use Robinhood that were the most upset. I was following some of the Corona Virus related stocks that were going up and down several hundred percent in a day at the time some of them got killed or missed out on big paydays.
